Isaiah 58:6-7 “This, rather, is the fasting that I wish:/ releasing those bound unjustly,/ untying the thongs of the yoke;/ Sharing your bread with the hungry,/ hungry, sheltering the oppressed and the homeless; Clothing the naked when you see them, and not turning your back on your own.”
We will never surrender completely to God’s will if we can’t show compassion and care for the poor and oppressed. Jesus wants us to be very active in taking care of His people. We must never turn our back to them at any time.
What does that mean for our daily living? God will provide the answers for you when you ask. Remember that God is not going to give you guilt or condemn you, but He will be truthful when you fall short of His will for His people.
Lord, help me today to be an instrument of help and peace for Your people. I praise You for being my prince of peace.
Do you recognize all of God’s children as being part of the Body of Christ? Do you take notice of the less fortunate? Do you recognize them in your life? When do you serve them?
