“365 Days of Praise” ~Deacon Steve Greco

January 18

2 Corinthians 10 4-5 “[F]or the weapons of our battle are not of flesh but are enormously powerful, capable of destroying fortresses. We destroy arguments and every pretension raising itself against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive in obedience to Christ.”
It is critical that we understand whom we are fighting against! Itis not the people who oppose us, but our spiritual enemies. The devil will seek to destroy any person, organization, ministry or family that is building God’s kingdom.
The best way to defeat the enemy is to take captive every thought that is not consistent with the will of Jesus. That means root out any sinful lust, gossip, dissension or discouragement. Anything in our life that takes us away from the love of Jesus. Another critical way to defeat the enemy is to love others in the name of Jesus. The name of Jesus will defeat every enemy and our love will conquer all sin and evil.

Lord, take over all thoughts I have today and purify them as a sacred aroma of Your love. I praise You for being my protector, my shield, my source.

Do your thoughts get in the way of God’s love for you? How can you trust His will through faith and allow Him to purify your soul?
