Mark 12:17 “…‘Repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.’”

It is getting close to tax season and complaining begins.  Haven’t I paid too much tax already?  Isn’t the tax code unfair?  The basis of all sin is pride, and the basis of pride is rationalization.

It is very simple with God.  Everything we have is His and for His glory.  God has appointed authorities over us, which we must respect and give what is required.  He is giving us direction to give a portion of our monies to the government that is fitting, according to the rules of the state.  It is called obedience and discipline, which leads to discipleship.

Lord, help me put my finances in proper alignment with your will.  I praise you for being the source of honesty.

Do you use your resources to glorify God’s name?  When do you? When don’t you?  How can you change your ways when you feel the temptation to use money to dishonor Your name?
