Galatians 5:14 “…‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”
I have always found this verse interesting. The first and obvious question is: who is my neighbor? I might add that the reality is many of us don’t even love ourselves very much.
We know our neighbor symbolizes everyone. Now, I would like for us to reflect on one additional thing. Your neighbor may be that one person who drives you crazy. Or, perhaps, someone has greatly hurt you and you don’t speak to them anymore, because it is too painful. God is calling you to reach out to them in love, in the same way that you reach out to those you love the most.
God doesn’t make junk. He has made you holy and blameless before Him. He loves you with an everlasting love. It is with that love that we are to love our neighbors. Don’t reflect on how much we love ourselves, but how much God loves us.
Praise You Jesus for loving me so that I may love others with that same love.
How do you thank God for His love and ask Him to transform your heart so that you may love others with His love
