Psalm 27:14 “Wait for the LORD with courage; be stouthearted, and wait for the LORD.”
I love Psalm 27 for so many reasons – especially this verse. We often hear the necessity of waiting on the Lord. The big difference for me is the focus on the word “courage.”
Indeed, it takes courage to wait on the Lord, and a lot of patience. We all know it is not easy to wait. It is human nature for most of us to want what we want, when we want it. Of course, that is also what children desire. As we grow in our faith, our patience should follow.
As I learn more about sin, it is evident, that sin and instant gratification go together. When I am in pain, my flesh wants to respond with addictive behaviors, materialism, power, anger, pride, all of which lead to anxiety and depression.
The Christian prays, waits with courage, and rejoices in all things. Give me the courage to wait on Your timing. I praise You for being a God of patience.
Patience in the Lord’s plan is faith that trusts in God. How do you deal with God timing?
