Psalm 108:2 “My heart is steadfast, of God; my heart is steadfast;/ I will sing and chant praise.”
To have a steadfast heart is to have an unwavering heart. That means we can’t be in “the world” one day, dealing with carnal thoughts and desires, and then try to be a Christian for a few hours on Sunday.
For most of us, a major weakness in our spiritual growth is our lack of being connected to Jesus “twenty-four seven.” To grow stronger we must praise His name, even when we don’t feel like it. We must be with Him through thick and thin, mirror His gracious and loving heart, love our neighbors as ourselves, and love God with all of our heart, soul, and might. Furthermore, we must listen to the word of God, so that we may grow in holiness.
Jesus, may Your praise be ever at my lips.
In all instances of your life, do you praise God? How do you find ways to praise Him at all times?
