Proverbs 4:25 “Let your eyes look straight ahead/ and your glance be directly forward.”

One of the most challenging, yet essential, element to our spiritual growth is to “see clearly” the reality of God’s will in our life.  I know that sin blocks spiritual vision.  When we have sinned, it is critical that we give a sincere repentance immediately.  It is only then that we see the spiritual truths that surround us.

Another deterrent to spiritual vision and wisdom is lack of faith.  If we think it is impossible to see the truth of God’s message for us, then we never will.  As the scripture says, it is impossible to please God without faith.

It was only after the men on the road to Emmaus broke bread with Jesus that their eyes were opened.  Perhaps that has also happened to you?  By being trapped by the world, we have been blinded from God’s truth.

Help me, O Lord, to open my eyes to Your Truth. May I always look forward and not behind.  I praise You for Your mercy.

In what areas of your life do you need the Lord’s help?  What do you need in order to see more clearly – God’s presence in your life?
