1 Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins in his body upon the cross, so that, free from sin, we might live for righteousness.  By his wounds you have been healed.”

This verse says it all.  It was our sins that led Jesus to die on the cross.  It was our pride, our stubbornness, and our rebellious nature.  We have eternity to thank our Lord and Savior for redeeming us.

By Jesus dying on the cross, we now have the ability to be “right” with God.  This “becoming right” enables us to live according to His will.  And, this puts us in the state of grace, allowing us to be “righteous” before God.

We are healed because of the cross.  The wounds that Jesus obtained for us are symbolic of our sin, and because our sins are healed, we are healed.

I praise You Jesus for being the God of healing.

What has God already healed in your life?  What healing do you need Him to help you with?
