1 John 2: 15 “Do not love the world or things of the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
This verse is difficult for those that want to keep one foot in the world and one foot with God. The reality is that God wants all of us, not just the part we want to give Him. He is a jealous God who doesn’t like competition.
When we love the things of the world, we begin to lust after them and worship them as idols. We create a God for ourselves, similar to when the Israelites made their golden calf.
This idol worship must be eradicated from our body, soul, and spirit.
Lord, melt me, mold me, and transform me into Your image. Help me to love only You and not the pleasures of the world. I praise You in all things!
Are you ready to take your whole life and surrender it to Christ? What are the challenges in this world that hold you back? Is it worthwhile, to you, to let God transform your life? Ask the Lord to help you examine your sins. Look deep in your heart to find your burdens and give them to God.
