Micah 6: 8 “You have been told, O man, what is good,/ and what the LORD requires of you:/ Only to do the right and to love goodness,/ and to walk humbly with your God.”
There are so many times in our lives that feel so complicated. What to do about our job? Should I marry that person? Have children? How should I serve God?
God wants to simplify our life. He tells us, through the prophet Micah, to do right. We know in our heart what is right and wrong. We don’t need someone to tell us. It is written in our heart.
To love goodness is to devote our life to following God’s law and ways. In doing so, we naturally walk humbly before the Lord. And, we soon realize that it is only through God’s grace that goodness occurs.
Lord, teach me to love only You – the center of my life – so that I may do right, seek goodness, and walk humbly before You. I praise You for Your guidance.
How do you make God the center of your life? In what ways can you improve upon this relationship? Do you ask God for the guidance to follow Him? Do you read the scriptures for guidance?
